Bunga raya is Malaysia national flower

The hibiscus or "Bunga Raya" is our national flower. Hibiscus has many colours but our national flower is Red Hibiscus. It was introduced in Malaysia by Ministry of Agriculture as National Flower in 1958. The red colour of the petal represent the courage, life and rapid growth of the Malaysian. The five petals symbolize the five principal of Rukun Negara. 



Baju Kurung is known as National Cloth

Baju kurung is synonym to the women attire while for men is Baju Melayu. Baju kurung becomes formal attire for school uniform. Women often wore baju kurung during festivals, special occasions and wedding.






Jalur Gemilang, our national flag

Jalur Gemilang means "Stripes of Glory". Jalur Gemilang is designed by Allahyarham Mohamed Hamzah. Our national flag has no name until 1997, where Malaysian is invited to name the flag. The meaning of colours found in Jalur Gemilang:

Red: means bravery
Blue: symbolise the unity and harmony of the Malaysian
Yellow: represents the royal colour of the king
White: the colour of kindness and clean

14 striping stripes: represents the 13 states in Malaysia and the Federal Government
14 pointed star: represent the unity of the states
Crescent: represent Islam as the official religion



Various of races found in Malaysia

Malaysia has various races. The main ethnics found in Malaysia is Malay, Chinese and Indian. Malaysia is famous for its harmonious multi-ethnic population that live in peace and harmony. Unity plays a vital role in driving stability and progress. The various culture in Malaysia makes the Malaysia as multi-cultural society.
